DEBUT EDITION SUCCESS ON THE WHITE CARPET FOR SÌ WHITE CARPET BY SPOSAITALIA COLLEZIONI

10/05/2018

THE 1ST EDITION OF ‘Sì Sposaitalia Award’ AWARDED

TO ANNA MOLINARI of BLUMARINE

Milan, 7 April 2018. The debut edition of Sì White Carpet by Sposaitalia Collezioni, the opening-night runway show that took place yesterday on 6 April at fieramilanocity under the artistic supervision of Giusi Ferrè, was an out-and out-triumph, which, for the very first time, saw the prêt-à-porter industry join forces with bridal sector companies.

Journalists and special guests enthusiastically participated in the runway show event and flocked to see Ms Anna Molinari, founder and creative manager of Blumarine, receive the very first ‘Sì Sposaitalia Award’, in recognition of her outstanding career. In the words of Simona Greco, Art, Fashion, Hospitality and Travel Exhibitions Director at Fiera Milano, “an award intended to recognise the visionary talent wielded by Anna Molinari to expertly bestow a touch of haute couture upon the bridal sector”.

This synergy between the bridal industry and glamorous spirit is the interpretive key to explaining the success of the first edition of Sì White Carpet by Sposaitalia Collezioni, which saw seven duos take to the runway with innovative and on-trend capsule collections. A sophisticated siren in head-to-toe embroidered French lace and a regal and flamboyant pure silk taffeta cloak for Alessandra Rinaudo, Creative Director of Nicole Spose, and Paola Turani; a cloud of degradè tulle that plays with all the diverse shades of pink for Blumarine Sposa, manufactured and distributed by Bellantuono Bridal Group; oriental flavours, clean lines and structured fabrics alongside dazzling kaleidoscopic prints and florals for Tosca Spose and Leitmotiv; silhouettes boasting immense and feminine volumes interpreted by monochromatic fuchsia for Stefano De Lellis and Musani Couture; lightweight, floaty gowns with soft and delicate lines for Enzo Miccio and Filippa Lagerbäck; mermaid gowns with an ecru-hued base and ivory Chantilly lace for Olympia Bridal and Giulia Gaudino; a child dressing up as a bride for Efisio Marras and Bellantuono, whose creativity spans from classic to rock, from cream to off-white; wool and silk razmir for special guest Carlo Pignatelli.

These are just some of the ideas that graced the white carpet runway, introducing a new concept for the bridal industry within the fashion scenario.

Now, buyers get an additional opportunity to take a look at products that are more aligned with demands coming from all over the world.

Through its popular concept and strong signature style, the event will provide a platform for the collections of the exhibitor companies.  However, Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni does not stop there. The fair has created still another initiative to offer a look at certain complementary products that accompany formal wear, which are presented in an original formula.

This will be the début of What’s New By il Matrimonio dei sensi: a captivating, romantic and experiential space that, ideally, will contain compact Italian excellence. The format, curated by Gabriella Giamminola, includes 12 selected companies placed inside a sensorial path for the visitor to discover in the What’s New area: accessories, shoes, beauty, fragrances, furs, jewellery and many other products. The various items will be explained in an exciting new way.

The event is confirmed as  rich platform of suggestions for buyers from all over the world. High profile selected guests will also be present, in collaboration with the Italian Trade and Investment Agency, from strategic countries like China, Japan, Hong Kong, Macao and Korea;  Brazil, Canada and the United States; Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan; United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Iran, Lebanon and Qatar;  Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, France, the Netherlands Norway, Poland, Sweden, Slovenia, Turkey and the United Kingdom.

Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni is therefore ready for business, without forgetting the dimension of glamour and dreaminess that moves around the world of bridal fashion.

SEVEN PARTNERSHIPS ARE SET TO SHARE THE SPOTLIGHT AT SÌ WHITE CARPET BY SPOSAITALIA COLLEZIONI

09/05/2018

An extraordinary fashion show and the presentation of the first Sì Sposaitalia Award

Milan, 6 April 2018 – The bridal sector is being enriched with collaborations and co-branding projects that will take centre stage at Sì White Carpet by Sposaitalia Collezioni.

Gracing the white carpet will be capsule collections born through a coming together of the industry's designers and companies under the artistic direction of well-known fashion critic Giusi Ferrè.

“Bringing these seven partnerships together has required an exercise in imagination from all of us and, at the same time, a touch of realism in finding that common approach of creative and productive creativity that’s the hallmark of Italian fashion – comments Giusi Ferrè. This has borne fruit with some special collections for a very special event, the wedding, which turns its participants - whether the happy couple, the best man and bridesmaids, or the guests - into stars for the day. It’s an initiative that is about to go into production, adding an unusual and complete product offering to the world of prêt-à-porter which in Milan is a sphere of constant innovation”.

The show will open with an exquisite cameo starring the Nicole  brand, which has opted for a “cool” partnership by asking  Paola Turani to re-interpret her garments from a contemporary angle: the model and influencer will immerse herself in this creative game working in close contact with Alessandra Rinaudo, the group’s designer; the catwalk will have a total red carpet look exclusively curated by Nicole, and a special creation worn by Paola Turani herself.

This will be followed by 6 more partnerships participating in the project: starting with Blumarine, one of the fashion system’s most admired brands, which has chosen to consolidate and extend its collaboration with Bellantuono Bridal Group; Tosca Spose, which will work alongside creative duo of Leitmotiv; Musani Couture partnered with emerging talent Stefano De Lellis; Enzo Miccio Bridal together with Filippa Lagerbäck; Olympia with the influencer Giulia Gaudino, and Bellantuono Bridal Group once more with the designer Efisio Marras.

Blumarine, founded in 1977 by Anna Molinari who continues in the role of stylist for the prestigious fashion house, has chosen to rise to the challenge provided by the new project and will be gracing Sì White Carpet by Sposaitalia Collezioni with a capsule collection of bespoke dream wedding gowns in collaboration with the Bellantuono Bridal Group.

The Tosca Spose and Leitmotiv partnership will see wedding gowns take the spotlight: Elisabetta Garuffi, renowned for her bon-ton, sophisticated and clean styling, will join forces with the creative duo, famed for their eclectic taste and unexpected yet unmistakable creations.

On the subject of occasion wear, Musani Couture, the historic brand specialised in occasion-worthy looks, which has chosen to invest in new talent in order to take a cue from the new generations and offer an innovative and glamorous image of the occasion-wear segment, has partnered with Stefano De Lellis, a young and promising Italian fashion designer and aficionado of gowns boasting abundant embroidery, crystals and jewels.

Enzo Miccio Bridal, the brand created by the stylist of the same name, a well-known face on TV and renowned wedding designer, will take to the catwalk with a collection designed in collaboration with Filippa Lagerbäck, inspired by her taste and style, which is heavily influenced by her love of nature.

Olympia Bridal, the recently launched project with its roots in the history of Italian high-class dressmaking with a fresh and innovative style, has chosen the sunny creativity of Giulia Gaudino, a beautiful influencer who has been in love with wedding dresses from an early age and who will be brand ambassador for Olympia Bridal.

The Bellantuono Bridal Group, which has enthusiastically risen to the occasion, has decided to take up the challenge by also making its expertise and professionalism available to Efisio Marras, the 24-year old Sardinian stylist and creative director of I’m Isola Marras, who, following in his parent’s footsteps, has re-interpreted the brand's vision of the contemporary woman.

Carlo Pignatelli too has chosenSi White Carpet by Sposaitalia Collezioni to announce a new chapter in its history with a celebratory capsule collection: to mark its 50° anniversary, Carlo Pignatelli is presenting five new looks in a contemporary style - interpreted by the young and iconic beauty of five models - four male and one female - with the ambition of creating a new continuity between past, present and future.

Sì White Carpet by Sposaitalia Collezioni once more proves to be an extraordinary fashion show and a cult occasion with the active participation of the press, industry professionals, influencers and special guests. One of the many appointments during the evening will be the presentation of the  Sì Sposaitalia Award: an exclusive accolade to one of the industry’s most prestigious brands that has succeeded in bringing the allure of high fashion to the bridal world.

Special thanks to: Lodovico Zordanazzo (www.lodovicozordanazzo.com) and Anabelle Tsitsin (www.byanabelle.com).

A LOOK AT TRENDS FOR 2019

09/05/2018

'I’ and 'A’ Silhouettes

These are two opposite shapes that will be popular in 2019: one is long and narrow, fluid and appropriately decorated but decisively unbridled, and the other is a 'princess' model with a lace bodice and an 'A'-shaped skirt made up of multiple layers of tulle to form a voluminous cloth-like look.

Don’t shrug

That’s right. In the upcoming season, shoulders will be strategic, providing the magic touch for many gowns. They can be caressable or explode in a myriad of layers to become deliberately voluminous. The shoulders frame the neckline, they interpret volume by rising and swelling in shapes that recall renaissance-era gowns or romanticism, and at times they are merely an impertinent detail.

Never without a train

It’s almost mandatory, at variable lengths, always following the bride softly down the aisle. No rigidity at all, the train has rounded ends to avoid creating corners of any kind. A 'tail' to play around with and use as needed when you turn around, almost as if admiring its ubiquitous presence.

Mantles and light capes

Veils are in, definitely, and so are mantles, capes and wraps that amplify the scenic effect of the gown. A light, evanescent aura - sometimes with adorned with moon dust or stars, to almost underscore its state of grace.

Inwoven Jewels

Bijoux jewels, rhinestones, lights, and scenic effects: jewellery is no longer just worn in strategic points. Stones are now woven into the gown - part of its DNA, so to speak. They provide a new interpretation, mixing with the threads to become actual weaves and therefore ensure perfect aplomb.

Exuberant Gardens

Flowers are back, brought in by the wind of high fashion. Garlands or solitary blossoms celebrate precious artisanship, decorating the shoulders or the waistline, or placed at the beginning of the train. An enchanted garden with a marvellous atmosphere, always in white and ton-su-ton, perfectly in harmony with the style of the gown, as if they had just been picked and placed.

Welcome back trousers

Yes, trousers are back, but they unexpectedly are no longer masculine. They don’t link to Marlene Dietrich or Katharine Hepburn, with soft lines and a lightly generous shape. Often they are worn with a perfectly identical blouse, which eliminates the net separation between the upper and lower body to the point of even becoming a jumpsuit.

The 'wow’ effect

Can a bridal gown have a touch of the bizarre, or be eccentric or surprising? Of course it can. On the contrary, it must escape anything that could be taken for granted. A splash of a fabric as special effect, or a leather jacket with writing to add a touch of rock. A new accessory, a small pouch, appeared for the first time in a Gucci worn over an elegant gown. Maybe it will be a new thing.
