A dress for Meghan

Meghan Markle is the bride of the year, now in the spotlight: will she comply with the strict ceremonial rules of Windsor Castle, or add something new and unusual? Everyone in London is waiting to see what she will wear. What would you like her to wear?

Some designers have already tried to imagine her bridal gown...

A precious, seductive figure wrapped in the volume of a very wide skirt with a triumph of French lace, silk, crystals and transparencies.

The stylist is Vinnì Quaranta, of DALIN Italian Atelier.

A mermaid in French Chantilly lace with hand-embroidered rebrodé lace insets and a transparent look at the hem, all featuring Swarovski crystals; a panel of pure silk voile organza; a bodice with a deep V-neck and lace trim in relief at the neckline. A jewelled waistline.

Stylist Elisabetta Polignano has come up with a modern, up-to-date style to suit the bride’s personality.

A double, transformable gown: a soft satin mermaid skirt underneath, with a much wider silk tulle and lace skirt over it. The satin bodice is completed by a Chantilly lace blouse with a silk tulle shoulder shawl trimmed in the same fabric as the bodice, which may be taken off at the reception. The gown is completed with a long silk tulle veil.

A silk satin mermaid gown for Meghan Markle, decorated with Offida handmade pillow lace on the heart-shaped neckline. On top, a lightweight shrug with a double jewelled clasp, made of Chantilly lace and decorated on the back with Offida pillow lace, with a long train. A mandarin collar embroidered with pearls. White silk.

The stylist Roberto Formentini has come up with this gown for Meghan Markle.

The stylist has designed a bon-ton tunic dress made entirely out of silk Chantilly lace for Meghan, with precious, bold edge trim at the neckline and hem.

The dress, which is close-fitting but not figure-hugging, has a very high neck but is made sensual by a veil of tulle that covers yet bares the back and shoulders. The little buttons on the back are a sign of the tailored touch essential in a regal gown.

During the church ceremony, the bride’s figure will be veiled by a white tulle top skirt, with drapery at the waist, held in place by a composition of crystals. This element is treated as jewellery, in the absence of a tiara, which Meghan will not be able to wear, according to the rules of the royal family. The side slit in the tulle offers a mere glimpse of the marvellous gown beneath as she strides along the aisle. The skirt can later be unhooked to reveal the bride’s perfect figure and the whole gown with its lace train.

IRIS NOBLE uses only the best lace on the market: the lace in the gown Duchess Kate Middleton wore is included in the company's collections. The lace that would be used in Meghan Markle's gown is made by the same French company; it is lighter in weight, but no less valuable. The style of the materials and the line of the gown are trendy but sombre, in line with the canons of the royal family.

Massimo Moles and Valeria Prisco of Jillian have come up with this sketch of a gown for Megan Markle. A romantic lace gown decorated with embroidery in relief, in shades of pink. All embellished with delicate pure silk organza petals to create a three-dimensional look.

• Description of the dress

As Meghan has a laid back kind of style and is not so much into bling, Kerstin chose silk kady as fabric, this slightly elastic material with its modern and sportive look underlines Meghans personality. The French lace inserts at the sleeves and the train at the romantic touch to this easy mermaid silhouette. The long double veil with lace hem chamfer the outfit.

Powder pink wedding gown in Chantilly lace with a full rebrodé lace inlay to create a raised effect. The mermaid hem and overskirt that form the train are made from silk gazar.

The overskirt features rebrodé lace inlays. The peppered embroidery on the upper part of the gown and overskirt is made entirely from crystals for added radiance.
