The "Yes I Do" begins with the dress

Between fashion shows and presentations, meetings and conversations, the wedding dress returns as the absolute star. Here are some sneak peeks from the Savannah Miller, Justin Alexander, Avaro Figlio, Luisa Sposa and Creazioni Maria Pia brands.

Spring is just around the corner and with it a growing fervour for weddings to be held, planned, rescheduled and put back on the calendar and forever, be eagerly awaited. The ceremonial sector is overwhelmed by a new energy and a desire to express itself in the fullest sense of the word, which once again finds its ideal setting in Sì SposaItalia Collezioni, the event dedicated to the bridal sector which returns next April, from the 1st to the 4th, at fieramilanocity_Mico (Milan). An event that, season after season, is constantly updated without ever losing its essence as a privileged showcase for the bridal universe and related trends, set in an exhibition that combines business and creativity, tradition and new cultures in a format in line with market needs.

It is from love, tenacity and the hope capable of overcoming every obstacle that the offering from Savannah Miller, an exceptional new entry of the next edition of Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni, is born. The collection features bold, graphic lines juxtaposed with soft, flowing fabrics for a romantic bride looking for a unique, elegant and innovative dress. "Now more than ever, brides want individuality and our Lorien dress is the perfect synthesis of this. The lace details, corset-like bodice and hook-and-eye closure perfectly embody the delicate sensibilities of every woman in a bold and contemporary way”, says Savannah Miller, fashion designer of the eponymous brand.

Even Justin Alexander chooses the Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni showcase to unveil his novelties: "I was inspired by extraordinary women who have made history, opened doors and laid down new paths for future generations”, says the designer. The SS22 collection thus becomes a tribute to the pioneers with an unwavering spirit: activists, artists and heroines who are the authors of essential and positive change. Each dress tells a story. Sleeves and necklines become must-have details, laser-cut embroidery, bold attention to detail, gold metal finishes and avant-garde 3D floral laces.

Romanticism in a contemporary key for all women who are perfectly in tune with their time but do not relinquish that touch of heritage that makes the difference: Avaro Figlio knows this well, for the first time at Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni, an exclusive presentation of his new Bianca line in which the identity codes of his signature are expressed in a sensually feminine key. Tailoring is in the foreground in the one-of-kind dresses characterised by architecture and light volumes in jacquard that alternate with asymmetrical drapes in cady, while more sculpted shapes are softened by transparencies and enveloping organza. "The Bianca Collection is a nod to the romantic tradition of royal gowns, but turns its gaze to a new contemporary sensuality, featuring the same woman in different personalities in a unique vision”, comment Creative Directors Dario Biglino and Sulabh Kalra.

Luisa Sposa's bride to be, on the other hand, follows the fil...blanc of continuity, in a path where craftsmanship reigns supreme and makes tailoring creations rich in tradition its recognisable stylistic signature. It is a reflection of the times and, at the same time, an attestation of coherence towards a style, that of the maison, in which a play of cross-references made with the help of lace and fabrics provides a creatively intense and rich story that is always absolutely original. "Our uniqueness is our craftsmanship, so much so that every piece of embroidery is handmade; in terms of dress types, we range from romantic, to slinky, to mermaid”, adds Rossella Iacovelli, the fashion house's communications manager.

The bride's gaze is firmly focused on the future, especially when it comes to the perfect blend of ethics and aesthetics created by Creazioni Maria Pia, whose collections have always "married" an idea of conscious beauty. Here is the new chapter in a story of style in which materials, both recycled and ecofriendly, weave the threads of extraordinary garments balanced between tradition and modernity. "Our kind of dress is the classic Creazioni Maria Pia one, that is important with particular structures and motifs such as sculpture dresses that enhance the most refined bride and have details that are not left to chance", explained designer Massimo Precoma.
