The ceremony in 2021: between dream and sobriety

Informal, intimate ceremonies, ethical choices and dresses that do not renounce the dream.

Informal, intimate ceremonies, ethical choices and dresses that do not renounce the dream. The new generations, free of protocols and formalities, dictate the rules of a new way of celebrating a life that is smart and sustainable.

The guests are a select few; the locations favour nature and open spaces; the catering is sustainable with eco-friendly choices and single-portions that reduce waste. The fittings abandon luxury and focus on personalisation, which soberly betrays the guests' taste. And then there's the technology: every moment is precious, capturing it is a must and sharing it is the new magic... and so the party extends beyond the physical boundaries and becomes a collective celebration, of all those invited to join in, albeit from a distance.

And in the face of such sobriety, the dream dress remains the undisputed star.  Iridescent chiffon, vaporous clouds of tulle, discreetly coated glitter and lurex, cascades of sequins and taffeta are some of the details that transport the imagination as in the collection that Musani Couture proposes for 2021. The Lebanese designer Gaby Charbachy has the same philosophy, imagining two possible scenarios for his Flat boutique: "On the one hand, an imaginative and glamorous bride as a statement of positivity and, on the other hand, dresses with clean, simple lines, the expression of those who, without excess, choose not to renounce".

In short, sobriety yes, but balanced by the dream and the desire, for at least one day, one evening, or a few hours, to feel fascinating, unique, unforgettable and carefree again.
