Crazy about lace

Seductive, precious, delicate. Lace comes in a very wide variety of types and textures - all of which are exquisite - and is symbolic of a romantic and somewhat regal bride. One of the best loved - and worn - trends of all time, it continues to be a very popular choice. And it is from Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni, always a central name in the bridal universe, that lace is once again confirmed as a must in the creation of wedding dresses. An icon of timeless elegance, it unleashes its myriad souls before us: floral, fine, thick, mixed with tulle or chiffon, presented in numerous variations, including aristocratic embroidery and textures for more contemporary tastes, it guarantees the effect that every woman desires for the best day of her life.

Lace has always been the choice of Carlo Pignatelli, who tells us “lace is synonymous with femininity and the important thing in order to wear it well is to follow your instinct: only a very bold and enterprising bride can carry off an all-lace bridal gown”. “Why limit a work of art?” are the words of the founder of Luisa Sposa, who adds “the greatest challenge is to succeed in putting two or three different types of lace together in the same dress”. Vittoria Foraboschi, Director of the Style Department of Maison Signore is in no doubt whatsoever: “Lace has made a comeback, more romantic than ever, in warm, vintage shades with an elegantly French feel”.

So what are the new trends preferred by the young bride-to-be? Luca Damiani, founder of Lab49 in Marsala, reveals the secrets of his clients: “lace is favoured by women who are more romantic, in combination with the big skirts of the princess models, but also by more sensual women, who tend to prefer a more sinuous style, with bare effect necklines, and it features also in the fluid dresses of the bohemian woman, inlaid with guipure”. From the boutique that shares her name Gabriella Sposa doesn’t hesitate for a moment: “Everyone loves lace! In more modern versions perhaps, embroidered and used on masculine-style jackets or blazers: even the most daring women want to live their dream anyhow”.
