Shared clothes: interview with Peter Langner

Peter Langner is preparing the collection that he will present at the next edition of Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni. He continues, with creativity and conviction, the path he began last year, combining his undisputed tailoring expertise with a focus on sustainability and a commitment to reducing waste. An important sign for the industry, showing that it is possible to achieve something meaningful even (and perhaps especially) at the highest level.

*Last year's show marked the beginning of a new era. What now?

It gave me so much energy and confirmed that I was on the right path. I'm working on fabric scraps and the reuse of cardboard, aiming to find a balance between what is purchased and what is reused. And it's not an easy exercise.

*What becomes important at this stage?

The product, because this research must not be at the expense of beauty, and communication. There is a lack of adequate information and unity of objectives on the part of other companies as well.

* What are you working on?

The next collection will really be shared by my work group. I am asking everyone: seamstresses, pattern makers, every single person who works here to unleash their creativity, allowing each of them to express their imagination rather than stifle it. Of course, then together we will work on this dress so that it becomes possible.

* What will be the result?

Fifteen masterpiece dresses because everyone will have put the best of themselves into them.
