2022 bridal trends according to Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni

Bodices and flowers dominate the bridal catwalks of the next season: here are the trends from which to take inspiration.

Weddings have finally started to make people dream again along with the whole wedding sector that during the last edition of Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni showed its very best. From a classic white wedding dress with a train to a more contemporary short dress, to maxi bows, back necklines, and accessories such as veils or tiaras: the 2022 trends meet the brides’ most varied wishes.

In general, the optimism and vitality can be felt in the collective mood, but also on the glamorous, sustainable, elegant, romantic or seductive dresses. It is no coincidence that the new 2022 collections convey strength, energy and courage: unique characteristics of nature and its elements.

In fact, several designers have been inspired by the beauty of gardens and blooming fields giving their original and fresh interpretation: butterflies, leaves, small and large or all-over flowers are back in an almost basic form or a more elaborate way. Ethereal nature is thus the protagonist of some of the Spring Summer 2022 capsules and Daniela del Cima, Daphne Milano’s stylist confirms it: "Dressing in flowers is a dream that takes us back to the ancestral myth of “Botticelli's Primavera". This unconscious desire is expressed in a thousand different shapes that are still current. Now I find that girls are looking for an old-fashioned, classic romantic approach. In this collection I wanted to tell the story of flowers with a palette representing blooming flowers in a field, printed on silk chiffon and with flowers made of organza applied to the dresses to create a 3D effect.”

Thus, brides in 2022 can choose to celebrate nature in all its forms, even the most elegant ones, as offered by Emiliano Bengasi, designer of brand by the same name: "Crystals that like dewdrops rest on the petals of flowers. The most sophisticated nuances of lavender, cornflower and hydrangea in all shades of pink and light blue are interpreted in the elegance of a handmade garment that takes on the appearance of a rare plant. The light and gentle touch of tulle remind of the strength and fragility of the flower at the same time. Dresses that bloom in large volumes, mermaids that open up like a corolla, the poetry of a secret and enchanted garden that explodes everywhere. In all this magic, butterflies rest gracefully on the petals... The bride is an ethereal princess of an enchanted place between dream and reality, who like a gust of wind changes her surroundings with grace and elegance."

This is also the case for the new 2022 collection by Rara Avis that is inspired by the countless shades that natural elements can take on: the versatility and elegance of the dresses adapt to the most demanding tastes and personalities who would never give up their wishes.

Yes also to the aesthetic highlight of women’s waist through bustiers and bodices that are elaborate and pleated, embellished with crystals or feathers capable of embellishing the upper portion of the dress. Designer Elena Bellantuono says that "For next season the bustier will be the key element: it becomes micro and transparent, embellished by 3D overlaps like macramé of eco-friendly cotton, thick or covered with micro tulle drapes".

Enhancing femininity with grace is the trend also shared by designer Elisabetta Polignano: "A bodice is often present in my creations. I have always found that not only it emphasizes femininity, but somehow gives the dress a touch of elegant, measured seduction. For me, a bodice is an accessory that not only bestows great importance to the dress, but one that must be reused and reinterpreted even with a more casual look."

Amelia Casablanca confirms the come back of the bustier: carefully ribbed at the waist from which rich and enveloping balloon skirts branch out.

Therefore, the bridal trends for 2022 see exalted silhouettes, details, and sophisticated simplicity and celebrate with respect and creativity the nature all around us.
